A home inspection provides an objective evaluation of a property’s condition to help you make a confident and informed decision.

At JT Home Inspections, each inspection is performed with care and attention to detail, focusing on the home’s accessible structural components, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and installed appliances. We use infrared thermography as part of our process to help identify hidden concerns such as moisture intrusion, insulation deficiencies, and certain electrical irregularities that may not be visible during a standard visual inspection.

Our goal is not only to identify potential issues, but also to help you understand what they mean in the context of the home. A detailed report is provided within 24 hours, and clients are encouraged to attend the inspection to review findings and ask questions in real time.

All inspections are conducted in accordance with the InterNACHI Standards of Practice.

A mold inspection evaluates a property for conditions that may indicate mold growth or excess moisture affecting building materials and indoor air quality.

At JT Home Inspections, we identify visible concerns and underlying contributors such as moisture intrusion, water damage, humidity imbalances, and ventilation issues. When appropriate, we can perform atmospheric mold testing, surface (spot) sampling, and indoor air quality testing to further assess suspected areas.

The goal is to provide clear, objective information so you can understand potential risks and determine whether further action or remediation is needed.

Radon is a naturally occurring, colorless, odorless, and tasteless radioactive gas found in soil, rock, and groundwater. It can enter a home through cracks, gaps, and other openings in the foundation.

A radon test measures indoor levels of this gas to determine whether concentrations are elevated. This information helps you understand potential exposure risks and whether mitigation should be considered.

Septic inspections provide a detailed evaluation of the septic system to help identify existing issues or potential failures before they become costly problems. This includes assessing the tank, distribution components, and visible system performance to ensure proper operation and signs of backup, leakage, or inadequate drainage.  

Private well inspections include water testing for contaminants such as bacteria, nitrates, and lead, along with evaluation of visible system components and basic operation. This helps identify potential water quality or system issues for homeowners and buyers.

Termite inspections help identify the presence of termites and other wood-destroying organisms that can damage a home's structural components. During the inspection, visible evidence of infestation, damage, and conditions that may promote wood-destroying organism activity are evaluated. Early detection can help protect your investment and reduce the risk of costly repairs. 

Some defects can’t be seen with the naked eye. Infrared thermography allows me to identify temperature differences that may indicate hidden moisture, missing insulation, air leakage, or overheating electrical components. By looking beyond visible surfaces, thermal imaging provides valuable insight into conditions that could otherwise go undetected during a standard visual inspection.
